Welcome to my web site. I write 'sagas' for Allison and Busby and historical romance for Harlequin, Mills & Boon.
The backgrounds to the Harlequin Mills & Boon books range in time from the Civil War and Jacobite Rebellion, through Georgian and Regency times to the coming of the railways and the outcry for and against building the Crystal Palace in Victoria's reign. The setting is the background to the trials and tribulations of the hero and heroine and I enjoy fitting the two together and bringing the story to the happy ending everyone looks for.
I have just finished the fourth book in my Georgian series of linked books for Mills and Boon about the Society for the Discovery and Apprehending of Criminals, also known as the Piccadilly Gentleman's Club. They are: The Captain's Mysterious Lady, The Viscount's Unconventional Bride, Lord Portman's Troublesome wife and - out next year - Sir Ashley's Mettlesome Match. Now I am going back to writing another Regency, so watch this space!
Of my longer saga/mainstream books, The Summer House, published on 2009 by Allison and Busby, reached the long list for the RNA's Romantic Novel of the Year Award. The Fountain, set between the two world wars, is out now out in hardback and paperback and I have just delivered a third manuscript to the publishers. More about that later.
